Latino Chamber of Commerce Minnesota Announces Winners of the 2021 Latino Business Awards

Minnesota’s premiere Latino event showcasing a wide array of successful Latinos in business that have earned recognition for their hard work and contributions to the Minneapolis Latino community happened Tuesday night.

More than 150 of the state’s Latino entrepreneurs, procurement executives, community leaders, industry leaders, and public officials gathered at Fogo de Chão in Minneapolis to celebrate and recognize the hard work of their peers.

“The mission of the Latino Chamber is to spur the economic growth of our Latino community and contribute to the prosperity for all of Minnesota. The Latino Business Awards provides the Latino Chamber an opportunity to recognize the great work and accomplishments of the Latino businesses in our state.” said John Pacheco, President of the Latino Chamber Minnesota.

Winners were nominated by the public and entries were voted on by a panel of judges. The judging panel consisted of: Senator Patricia Torres-Rey (63), Dr. Bruce Corrie, VP at Concordia University, Iain Carlos, Diversity Reporter at Minnesota Business Journal, John Pacheco President of the Latino Chamber and Fabio Tenorio Executive Director of the Latino Chamber.

“Latinos are starting businesses at a faster rate than the national average. The spending power of our community is a huge contribution to local and national economies. The Latino Business Awards celebrates and advances the spotlight for Latino owned businesses so they can seek larger opportunities.” said Fabio Tenorio, Executive Director of the Latino Chamber Minnesota.

Corporations such as Xcel Energy, US Bank, and Minnesota Power are partnering in the event along with Telemundo, El Burrito Mercado, The Hutton Law Firm, and Univision. Partnering in the event shows that these businesses are serious about supporting the Latino community in the Twin Cities.

Latino Employee Resource Group of the Year – Medtronic
Corporation of the Year – Minnesota Twins
Latino Non-Profit of the Year – Latino Economic Development Center
Latino Chamber Partner of the Year – Minneapolis Regional Chamber
Latino Public Official of the Year – Senator Melisa López Franzen
Latino Entrepreneur of the Year – Amalia Latin Gourmet

Winners will receive the award recognition for their work as well as be featured in an extensive media campaign to promote their work as well as they will receive Dinner for 2 at Fogo de Chão, Minneapolis.
