MINNEAPOLIS– The Latino Chamber of Commerce Minnesota will host its annual Latino Business Awards on Tuesday, October 12th, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Fogo de Chao Minneapolis.

“The mission of the Latino Chamber is to spur the economic growth of our Latino community and contribute to the prosperity for all of Minnesota. The Latino Business Awards provides the Latino Chamber an opportunity to recognize the great work and accomplishments of the Latino businesses in our state.” said John Pacheco, President of the Latino Chamber Minnesota.

Join more than 150 of the state’s Latino entrepreneurs, procurement executives, community leaders, industry leaders, and public officials as they connect to celebrate and recognize the hard work of their peers.

Winners are nominated by the public and entries are voted on by a panel of judges. The judging panel consists of: Senator Patricia Torres-Rey (63), Dr. Bruce Corrie, VP at Concordia University, Iain Carlos, Diversity Reporter at Minnesota Business Journal, John Pacheco President of the Latino Chamber and Fabio Tenorio Executive Director of the Latino Chamber.

“Latinos are starting businesses at a faster rate than the national average. The spending power of our community is a huge contribution to local and national economies. The Latino Business Awards celebrates and advances the spotlight for Latino owned businesses so they can seek larger opportunities.” said Fabio Tenorio, Executive Director of the Latino Chamber Minnesota.

Large corporations such as Xcel Energy, US Bank, and Minnesota Power are partnering in the event along with independently owned Latino grocery store, El Burrito Mercado, and The Hutton Law Firm. Partnering in the event shows that these businesses are serious about supporting the Latino community in the Twin Cities.
