The UK is scheduled to leave the EU in March 2019. A conditional agreement on the terms governing a transitional period from April 2018 to December 2020 has just been announced, but has to be formally ratified. As a consequence, companies doing business in the UK need to be making contingency plans for what happens in March 2019 (when the UK formally leaves the EU), what happens during the transitional period through December 2020, and what happens when the transitional period comes to an end.
